TransPoint

TransPoint, a Microsoft joint-venture with the First Data Corporation, was an online bill presentment and payment company where consumers could pay their bills over the Internet. I worked with graphic designers and developers to code the site in a way that met both the design and technical requirements.
Problems solved:
I was the main HTML coder for the TransPoint e-bills site. Much of the site's appearance was prototyped by a major Seattle design firm. I took the company's Photoshop files and turned them into HTML. To minimize download times, I did not want to use a lot of graphics to implement their design. The site contained lots of lines created by table background colors, web-safe four pixel gifs that appear to be nonweb-safe colors and style sheet effects for the more advanced browsers.
I also developed a dynamic HTML demo of a customer service product that TransPoint used. Previously, sales people had to NT Server running on their laptops in order to be able demonstrate the complex software that was used. I created an HTML version that fit on a floppy disc and could be used on any computer running Internet Explorer 4. It used dynamic HTML to emulate drop-down menus and other windows features.
Technologies used:
- Advanced HTML: frames, style sheets
- Dynamic HTML / Javascript
- Active Server Pages
- Photoshop
- Microsoft Visual SourceSafe
